Talk about bread here. Doesn't matter if it is boneless bread, boneless bone bread, or bone bread.

Over the weekend I made 2 loaves of bread:

1. White bread with a tablespoon of crushed red pepper. This is really good bread. The spiciness creeps up on you. Fire Bread mmm

2. Cinnamon Swirl....was a little off but still came out good. Bread Kicks Ass (similar to politeness okay bye bye)

Hello!!

I baked my first loaf today! I did a simple recipe. Flour, salt, water, yeast. It came out really dense but so good!!

First Loaf

My bf and roommate said it looks like a loaf of bread from a video game :)

BREAD DISASTER!!

So I decided to follow a recipe in the cookbook mold got me for secret santa...

I wanted to make some delicious potato rolls!

bred

I honestly don't know what happened but the dough was so sticky despite adding more and more flour.

quiksand

It was like quick sand it kept sucking my arms into it and it was a real bitch to clean up!!

Low and behold it turned out ok

tater bred

So anyone know why it was so STICKY?? Did I not mash the potatoes enough? Did I fuck up the yeast? Does the recipe require way more than 5 cups of flour??

Without looking at the recipe it's hard to say if that's intentionally a wet dough or not, but yeah sometimes they're almost just soupy. Sometimes letting it sit for a while will let it get some tension as the gluten forms. Use a sifter if you're using scoop measures for flour, since going right from the bag might be more compressed (although that would probably make the dough dryer if anything), or if you have access digital scales are very useful.
This is a kneading technique for wet dough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1timJlCT3PM but they will probably be messy no matter what. Also, kneading isn't really a necessary step it's more something to help accelerate the gluten formation. You can probably just let it sit for a few (2-4+) hours once the wet and dry ingredients are mixed together fully instead of kneading.
Either way, looks like it turned out tasty!
