Schlucht, the MIDI show last night was really good. I'd listen to something like that regularly.

hei uploaded the episode

its here on the cashmere blog

and here on mixcloud

thanks again for that fun radioshow everyone.

P,S.
there was a person of K-hole trax label from Wrocław, Poland at the radioshow who really liked the show and asked if we would be down to maybe release a mix tape for them.

I wasn t sure what to say. but if you want I can get in touch with him and we can see how that goes. let me know.

listening gave me a lot of ideas about mixing midi... really seems like it could be a very deep thing. got me thinking about mixing the midi files instead of mp3 renders, since you have access to each separate track. then there's all the different ways you can produce the sound, various GM engines, vst's, playing with tempo, trigger drum machine etc.

maybe i can experiment some smi

wow I really like that idea @peef
that would be really intense to actually figure out a system to "dj" like that.

i had an idea about dj-ing midi too.
was thinking of being an international dj and flying around the globe to make money in clubs and at huge festivals.
*i know - its not realistic and more of a dream*

but I guess if it happens I would like to only bring usbs and midi music and always only dj midis - nothing else.

the way that soundfont (GM) is written in the collective memory gives the listener a lot of trust and comfort - especially with pop music and game related midis.
I m even wondering if maybe in 20 or 30 years the memory of that particular sound-aesthetic will be vanished.

anyway the idea of looping the standard back at standardized culture makes me very happy and smile.
